What are the differences between 24 hours & 72 hours closed suction catheters

What are differences between 24 hours & 72 hours closed suction systems
Medical professionals  know that there are 2 versions of Closed Suction Catheters available on the market, specifically 24 hours version and 72 hours version, but do you know what are the differences between them?

Today I am going to explain the differences, functionally and structurally.

Functionally, 72 hours version serves as long as 72 working hours without replacements, while 24 hours version must be replaced in 24 hours. For those who require continuous suctioning over 24 hours, in conditions such as the surgery under general anesthesia or surgery for critically ill patients, 72 hours version is recommended to reduce the frequency of replacements.

Structurally, there is an isolation valve mounted on 72 hours version, and this isolation valve aims to make it completely sterile within the time of use, but there is no such a valve on 24 hours version.

About how to choose a right Closed Suction Catheter between 24 hours version and 72 hours version, we should follow the doctor’ advices, which will help us use closed suction system safely and effectively.
